Patricia Uzoma Okpala is a Professor of Nursing Science at the Evangel University, Akaeze, Ebonyi State, Nigeria. Currently, she is the Head of the Department of Nursing Sciences, College of Health Sciences, Evangel University, Akaeze. Professor Pat Okpala holds a PhD in Educational Administration & Supervision from the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka (2004); MSc in Community Nursing from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (2012); and M.Ed in Educational Administration & Supervision from the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka (1998); HND in Public Health Nursing from the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso (2019); and a Diploma in Education from the Institute of Management & Technology [IMT], Enugu (1992) She is a Fellow of the West African College of Nursing [WACN], and became a Registered Nurse & Midwife in 1977 & 1979 respectively. As a distinguished and accomplished scholar, nurse educator, administrator, and practitioner, Pat Uzo has worked in both clinical and academic settings with a rich and remarkable career spanning over four decades. She has held positions in several universities and schools of nursing in Nigeria; taught wide range of undergraduate and post graduate courses (including Community Health Nursing, Fundamentals of Nursing, Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety Nursing, and Principles & Practice of Primary Health Care); supervised over 50 postgraduate & graduate theses; served in Nursing Council professional examinations; presented research both in conferences in Nigeria & abroad; and published papers extensively in highly- ranked local & international journals.
